The Center for Environment and Aerosol Research (CCAR) at Portland State University serves as a globally recognized, multidisciplinary engine for transformative research and teaching in areas of environment science, atmospheric science, air quality and environmental health. The center includes scholars with knowledge across seven departments in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Technology, and College of Urban and Public Affairs.
CCAR maintains close connections with other pertinent entities within and outside of PSU that have climate-related objectives, consisting of the Institute for Sustainable Solutions (ISS), the PSU School of the Environment (So, E), Oregon Transportation Research and Educational Consortium (OTREC), and the Oregon Climate Modification Research Study Institute (OCCRI). The centerpiece of CCAR's education objective is the National Science Foundation-funded Research Study Experience for Undergrads (REU) summertime research program.
